102   GENERAL DEFINITIONS

102.01"Regular Employee" is one who works on a full-time or part-time basis as follows:
    a)  "Full-Time Employee" shall mean an employee who is scheduled to work the hours of work specified in Article 204.

    b)  "Part-Time Employee" shall mean an employee who works scheduled shifts wherein the hours of work are less than those established for full-time employment.
102.02"Casual Employee" shall mean an employee who is hired on an irregular day-to-day basis as needed.
102.03"Term Employee" shall mean an employee who is hired for a fixed period of time for a specific job. The term of employment may be extended only by mutual agreement.
102.04"Probationary Employee" shall mean a new employee serving a probation period of six (6) months. Performance reviews will be held at (3) three months and (5) five months.
    a)  Probationary periods will be considered for extension. The decision to extend the period will be based on conversations among representatives of the Employer and the Union, and the Human Resources Manager.

    b)  If an Employee is unsatisfactory in the opinion of the Employer, such Employee may be terminated at any time during the probationary period without notice and without recourse to the grievance procedure, provided such termination is not for reasons which are discriminatory, arbitrary or in bad faith.
102.05Where indicated by context or intent of this Collective Agreement, the feminine shall be deemed to include the masculine, and the singular shall be deemed to include the plural, and vice versa.
